How much are voice lessons?
To those who know me, it is known I like to keep financial matters private. Voice lessons are an investment and prices are discussed with me personally via phone or email. They are at a competitive rate and are affordable for families and for college students!
What ages do you teach and when should my child start lessons?
My youngest student is 7, my oldest is 70! My recommendation is to start once your child begins to read. We will discuss rehearsal etiquette and how to continue progress even if you aren't in a lesson!
All cancellations must be done with an advance notice of 24 hours. If you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled time, for any reason, you are responsible for paying for the entire price of your lesson. If you decide to reschedule your lesson within a 48 hour time period you are paying a 20% rescheduling fee for the inconvenience.
What level do you teach and how often should I take lessons?
I teach all levels, from beginners to advanced professional vocalists and actors! My recommendation is a weekly vocal lesson. Voice lessons are like going to the gym to stay in shape! However, the frequency depends on individual circumstances and availability.
What do I need to bring with me for my lessons, especially my first?
For your first lesson, bring a song with you that you already are comfortable with and know. We will do a short Q&A before you even start singing. I want you to feel relaxed and confident before we begin. My main concern is for you to bring a dedicated and persistent work ethic. I do not care how talented you are or what level you are at singing as long as you have determination and drive.
I prefer all of my students to have their materials, (songs, pencils, notes, etc.) in a two inch, black three ring binder.
Do you do Skype/FaceTime lessons?
I spend about 8-15 hours a week doing Skype/FaceTime lessons with students from all over the world. I've taught lessons with students in Hong Kong, California, Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Ireland! All over!
So, if you don't live in NYC and still want to have a great vocal education - don't be shy. The FaceTime lessons are a well-oiled machine!
Where do you teach?
Ripley Grier! I am teaching full time in a mecha-training ground for all growing and auditioning actors! The enviroment is filled with passion and love for the arts and it's infectious! RG is a wonderful facility thats well maintained and easy to get to!
